Four South West Chef of the Year winners were demonstrating their skills in the cookery theatre at the Source Taste of the West Food and Drink Trade Show at Westpoint Arena, Exeter, on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th February 2020.
Visitors over the two days of the show were treated to the fascinating demonstrations in which our winners re-created some of their winning dishes in the Innovation Cookery theatre, hosted by Exeter Cookery School.

Jamaar cooked pan-fried Sole, braised fennel and sole ravioli – a replica of his winning main course dish

South West Student/Apprentice Chef of the Year 2019

Exeter College and baker at The Little Bakehouse, Launceston
Recreating her winning main course, Rosie prepared pheasant chasseur, pheasant leg bon bon, fondant potatoes and pickled mushrooms.

Overall South West Chef of the Year and South West Professional Chef of the Year 2015

Jamie prepared two dishes: Beesands mackerel, blowtorched and moussed, with English wasabi consommé and sweet and sour mandarin
This was followed by Gara Bridge venison with parsnip and ruby chocolate.

Sous Chef, The Manor House Hotel, Castle Combe, Wiltshire
Ed prepared a seasonally adapted version of his winning starter, Red Mullet with roast and pickled cauliflower and cauliflower crisps with a shellfish sauce and prawns.

The Source Taste of the West Trade show includes various demonstrations and an extensive range of food and non-food exhibitors.
