We are extremely sad to have taken the difficult decision not to go ahead with the South West Chef of the Year competition for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have put a great deal of thought into how we might be able to proceed with the competition but unfortunately, due to the challenges of ensuring that we can maintain social distancing, we have regretfully decided that it will not be possible to implement appropriate measures throughout. Obviously, the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved is our main priority and therefore we feel it is safer not to proceed.
Furthermore, we appreciate that many involved in the competition will need to focus on their businesses at such a difficult time for the industry. We wish everyone the very best and hope that business will return to some semblance of normality as soon as possible.
We are extremely sorry to everyone who was planning to enter this year and would like to thank you very much for your interest. We very much hope that the situation surrounding the pandemic will have eased sufficiently to enable the competition to go ahead as usual in 2021 and we look forward to receiving your entry then!
